See What the Platform Holds

The E-Invoice Platform Documents page shows the documents the platform itself holds for this company, both received and sent. It answers a different question from the send log: the log records what Business Central did, this shows what the platform has. When those two disagree, this page is where you find out.

Open the page

Choose the Tell Me. Search icon, enter E-Invoice Platform Documents, and then choose the related link. It is also reachable from E-Invoice Platform Setup and from the E-Invoice Status box on a posted document.

The page is empty until you load it. Choose Refresh for both directions, or Incoming Only / Outgoing Only to load one side.

What the columns mean

ColumnWhat it tells you
DirectionWhether the platform received this document for you or sent it on your behalf
Document Typeinvoice, creditNote, selfBillingInvoice, selfBillingCreditNote, messageLevelResponse or xml
Document No.The number inside the document, where the platform could parse one
Sender / ReceiverThe Peppol identifiers of both parties
UnreadWhether the document is still unread on the platform
Created AtWhen the platform recorded the document
Platform Document IdThe platform's identifier for it

One thing that catches people out: the sender and the receiver of one exchange each see a different id for it. An id from this page will not match the id your trading partner quotes.

Download the UBL

Select a row and choose Download UBL to get the XML as it was exchanged. This works for incoming documents too, which is useful when a supplier's invoice will not import and you want to see what actually arrived.

Mark a document as read

Mark as Read marks an incoming document as read on the platform, so the import stops offering it. Use it for a document you have handled outside Business Central — one you booked by hand, or one that should never have been sent to you.

This writes to the platform, and other tools that read the same inbox see the marker. It is not a Business Central-only flag.

Only an incoming document carries a read flag:

Only an incoming document carries a read flag on the platform.

If you mark something read by mistake, Scan Inbox Now on the Vendor Bank Approvals page always reads the whole look-back window regardless of read state, so a document marked read without arriving can still be found.

Open the send log entry

For an outgoing document, Open Log Entry jumps to the send log row that produced it. When there is no match you get:

No log entry matches this document. An incoming document never has one, and an outgoing document sent before this app recorded the platform id cannot be matched exactly.

When to use this page

  • A customer says they never received an invoice. The log says Sent; this page confirms the platform holds it and lets you download exactly what went out.
  • A supplier says they sent something and nothing arrived. Load the incoming side. If it is not here, it never reached your access point, and the conversation moves to their side.
  • Documents are being skipped on import. Compare the Receiver Id on the incoming rows with your company's own Peppol identifier. A mismatch usually means the company mapping points at the wrong platform company.
  • Only some documents are offered. Check the Unread column. With read tracking on, documents already marked read are not offered again.
